RF Ablation Device
A system for the RF ablation of malignant tumors can be used in two ways: pierce the tumor from the center and heat and destroy cells radiating away from the probe, or gang three probes together and heat and destroy cells in an overlapping radial pattern.
Origin designers observed mock surgeries in cadaver labs, in addition to cataloging engineering/technical guidelines and limitations. Discovery work was followed by iterative ideation, quick prototyping and use testing. Complete pre-production CAD database was provided.
